Don't pray for me
Save your breath, for those who need prayer
My flame has died
I cannot go without your love
Life has become
Too painful to continue
I will die
In defiance of those who wish me to live
The land of death seeps into
The nature of existence
My soul imprisoned
By a cold unforgiving winter
What once seemed real
Now replaced by a facade
While my form may be here
My mind has died
Don't mourn for me
Save your tears, for those who still breathe
My soul is free
Unburdened by the weight of grief
Though I still feel
Shame for those I've abandoned
Even in death
Your embrace would absolve me of pain
Finality looms upon weary eyes
Fatigued from the weight of life
Desire to breathe slowly repressed
By the burden of existence
Doom embraced within the soul
Call to the tide, end us all
Peace obtained by demise
All entombed in the ice
Forever lost, frantic and frail
Forsaking what remains of life
This existence, too much to bear
Far too late now for forgiveness
All that I ask is for you to
Live free of the ghost of regret
I cannot be saved anymore
I don't want you to share my fate
Futility dawns upon hopeless skies
Forever scarred by endless gray
Oppressive seas slowly consume
The will to perservere
Defeated by the tides of grief
Cry to the void, silence falls
Numbed by the unending cold
Forever reticent
Cold rain begets the rising tide
Drowned in the void of ageless sleep
Eternal silence bound to time
Cast through oceans of joyless depths
Failure choking the voice of the desolate
Despair cast to the silence of apathy
Withering and desperate, shunned from light
Buried under waves of rancor
Upon the shore of the final dawn
Where seeds of grief are reaped and sown
A dour bloom devoid of life
A dismal gloom gray skies belie
Waves wear the stone, reduced to dust
As the last farewell gives into dusk
Weary and lost, absent of faith
In the oceans rest our final fate
Ice forms upon the fading pyre
Snuffing the light that once gave hope
Nights now endless, vacant of dreams
Lost within the seas of formless doom
Mourning prayers lost to the blight
Desperate cries forsaken by the light
Fading and mournful, exiled by life
Death will be our only reprieve
Don't wait for the end of days
to manifest that which brings you joy
Live for yourself, live for others
Don't forsake life, as I have done
Each day apart, away from you
As I watch you, hidden away
Buried behind shame and regret
Mourning a life I never had
Waiting for the end of time
Visions of your face cloud my mind
Silence broken by my tears
Growing darker, smothered by fear
Don't waste away waiting for me
I will see you again in time
Live in despite of what I've done
The harm, the grief, forsake it all
Triumph over your sorrow's wrath
There will be time to mourn my death
I'll wait for you here at the end
And in due time, embrace you again
My words may not reach you now
Yet I speak them from my heart
Even if they fall on deaf ears
Heaven is not heaven without you, my love

Incredible work. The anxiety and horror of the ocean is so present in the music and lyrics. Sad that I came upon this project after its conclusion but excited to see what the musician behind it will do next if anything. Will be a blessing regardless I figure. Grey

ALL HAIL THE MOOSE!! There’s so much to love about this compilation, particularly the fact that all proceeds from sales go to charity. The fact that there’s so much great music on it is secondary. Follow the Moose for more great releases! Kirk Gauthier

A blackened doom concept record about the very real problem of amphibian extinction, “Croak” is a punishing, essential listen. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 23, 2022
Joseph Hawker subverts the musical and sociopolitical status quo with a black metal triptych that's as incendiary as it is impressionistic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 5, 2022
